Dengue cases are alarmingly increasing in Bara district. With the rise in the cases, fear is looming large among the local people.

Acting Chief of District Public Health Office, Bara, Ramnaresh Prasad Yadav informed that 44 dengue cases were confirmed in the district since September 13. According to him, 11 dengue patients were found in Kalaiya Hospital, nine in Public Health Hospital and 24 in Nijgadh.

Some dengue patients have returned home after treatment while some are undergoing treatment at Kalaiya-based Provincial Hospital. The increasing cases meant there would be an acute shortage of kits for dengue test.

The concerned authorities were informed for the supply of test-kits, Yadav said. Dengue cases are likely to increase in the district, he further shared. No fatal case of dengue has been so far reported in the district, Yadav informed.
