Israel To Resume Taking Caregivers

Israel is set to take nepali caregivers after a hiatus of 6 months.

Protest of trade union related to Foreign Ministry in Israel since six months had stopped Nepali caregivers to reach Israel. After talks with concerned authority, they have accepted to facilitate Nepali workers’ travel despite continuing protest, Sesh Narayan Poudel, Director General of the Department of Foreign Employment informed.

More than 6 thousands Nepalese youth had given language test in last September. 2009 studests passed the exam out of whom 1075 were selected for employment opportunity. Israel and Nepal have agreed on government-to-government (G2G) level to take give employment opportunity for caregivers in Israel.

Out of 1075, 297 employees have already reached Israel. The recent commitment from Israeli side would mean remaining 778 caregivers will also reach their employment destination soon.
