Pokhara metro is all set to welcome Mayors of all 6 metropolitan cities of Nepal for a convention on July 29 and 30.
Mayors will be participating in first “Metro Meet Nepal 2079” proposed by Pokhara’s Mayor Dhana Raj Acharya with the slogan “Coordinative Development and Cooperation For Prosperous Metro”. Deputy mayors and administrative officers of all metros will also take part in a 2 day convention.
Mayor Acharya informed that the convention will be organized regularly for next 5 years with the aim of making metropolitans accountable to public and also address their needs. Acharya said that the convention is expected to be fruitful in terms of exchanging experiences and opinions regarding regular operations, flow of service to public as well as development activities. The convention is expected to provide meaningful insight about more effective and qualitative delivery of services to public, Acharya added.
Acharya said that various topics like internal tourism promotion, marketing of local products among cities, effective mobilization of available resource among intra metros and metro’s future programs, challenges and management are expected to be discussed in convention. Similarly Acharya informed that the convention will prioritize on consistency of development model among metros as well as exchange of information and technology.
The program will conclude after handing over flag with a logo of “Metro Meet Nepal” for 2080th second edition to respective mayor. Pokhara metro has believed that the convention will be fruitful platform for exchange of plans, projects, perspectives and experiences.
