Multiple Earthquake In Western Nepal, Six Dead In Doti

Multiple earthquakes have been felt in Farwest and Karnali province of western Nepal with as many as six people losing their lives.

Eartquakes of magnitude 5.7, 4.1 and 6.6 richter scale have been recorded in last 12 hours all with epicenter at Khaptad National Reserve area in Doti district. The first one was at experienced at 9:07pm on Tuesday while 6.6 magnitude earthquake occured at around 2am midnight.

Six people have died after houses collapsed in Purbichauki rural municipality of Doti. Harka Bohora, Bhagawati Bohora, Tulasi Bohora, Prem Bohora, Dhansari Bihora and Sita Bohora of Purbichauki-3 Thadagaun are among the deceased. Similarly five more have been injured due to earthquake. Teams of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been deployed for rescue operations.

Dry Landslides have occurred in Sayal rural municipality of Doti due to landslide. Earthquakes were felt across Bajhang, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts as well according to locals.
