Nijgadh Airport Should Not Be Delayed : PM Deuba

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the costruction of Nijgadh Airport should not be delayed.

Prime Minister Deuba, who arrived here today along with top leaders of the ruling alliance partners to inspect the proposed international airport from Nepali Army chopper, mentioned that the construction of coalition government would keep the construction of Nijgadh International Airport as top priority.

He expressed commitment to start construction of airport with two-lane runway soon. Saying Tarai-Madhes fast track and airport are the projects connected with each other, PM Deuba announced that construction of both projects would not be stopped.

Similarly, Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, shared there would be loss of billions of rupees to the state if Nijgadh airport is not constructed.

Likewise, Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict with full text regarding the Nijgadh airport.

Upendra Yadav, Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party, said there was no alternative to construct international airport in Nijgadh as the airport would help in Tarai-Madhes’s economy, as well as create employment to citizens of this area.

Stating that Prime Minister Deuba has taken determination to construct the international airport in Nijgadh, Vice-Chair of Rastriya Janamorcha, Durga Poudel, added the Rastriya Janamorcha Party has already agreed in this regard.

Minister for Forest, Ram Sahaya Yadav, Tourist Minister Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, Minister for Water Supply, Uma Kanta Chaudhary, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Rajendra Prasad Pandey, were present on the occasion.
