TIA Warns Against Flying Drones Within Five Kms

Flying drones around the Tribhuvan International Airport has been banned.

Flying drones within five kilometers of the Tribhuvan International Airport surroundings is punishable as per the laws, according to a notice issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

The rule is brought into action citing aviation safety. Flying drones around TIA vicinities poses serious risks to aviation safety, and anyone involved in such activities is subject to stern action, said the CAAN.

Although Drone related Rules, 2021 has prohibited flying drones around airports, the rules are found being violated by flying drones around airports, said the CAAN.
