Election Commision has prepared software to register for voter list from home.
EC spokeperson Shaligram Sharma Paudel has informed that the registration and update process for voters list can be done from home now. He also informed that the software is in final phase of development and will be available for public within 10 days. Online system for voter registration would end the compulsion for people to go District Election Office or District Administraion Office to register their name in voter list. It is expected to reduce the workload of concerned office by 70%.
At present, EC is using Biometric Voters Registration System (BVRS) for registration. Online system will be a major upgrade to current system, Paudel informed. After system gets online, people can simply register their name in voter list from mobile devices.
