Disaster Victims of Karnali Province Demand Immediate Relief

Disaster victims of Karnali Province have demanded for immediate relief.

A team led by former Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Karnali Province, Naresh Bhandari, met with Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand at Home Ministry on Wednesday and demanded this.

The team also requested Home Minister Khand to conduct onsite monitoring of crop, arable land, and livestock damaged by natural disaster at different districts including Jumla, Kalikot, Mugu, Humla and Dolpa as well as human causalities.

Similarly, drawing the attention of government towards difficulties faced by people with infrastructures like road, bridge, dam, school building, hydropower projects, drinking water project and telephone towers being destroyed due to natural disaster, the team also submitted its memo to Minister for Energy, Irrigation and Water Resources, Pampha Bhusal.

On the occasion, former Minister Bhandari demanded to launch ‘Private Housing Insurance Programme of all Karnali Folks’ as well as ‘Tila, Hima and Jawa River Management Project’ the long-term disaster management of Karnali Province and to allocate necessary budget for the same.
