The Ministry of Health and Population has recorded 59 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest update.
The new cases came to light through 2,882 samples tested in various laboratories across the country during the same period. There are currently 1,830 active cases in Nepal.
Among them, 1,766 are being treated in home isolation, 64 in institutional isolation and 18 in ICU facilities, said the Ministry. Similarly, 161 infected persons got recovery in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery caseload to 985,395 till date.
The recovery rate is 98.6 per cent, the Ministry said. Likewise, no death has been reported from the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours. Coronavirus infection, however, has claimed 12,016 lives so far in the country.
Kathmandu has over 500 active cases at present while Lalitpur has over 200. Taplejung, Terahthum, Sankhuwasabha, Ramechhap, Manang, Humla, Dolpa, Kalikot, Bajhang and Darchula districts have no active cases of COVID-19 at present, shared the Ministry.
