Two dengue-infected patients who were admitted to the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital for treatment died on Wednesday.
A 86-year-old man from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-8, Bardiya and 12-year-old girl child from Tikapur Municipality-6, Kailali breathed their last during treatment, informed Chief Medical Superintendent of Bheri Hospital Dr Badri Chapagain.
According to him, the old man was admitted to hospital on August 30 while the 12-year-old was taken to hospital on September 4. The old man also having asthma and respiratory complications was being treated at ICU, Dr Chapagain shared.
Inflow of dengue-infected patients in the hospital has increased lately for treatment, hospital sources said. As informed, Nepalgunj sub-metropolis has launched a campaign to search and destroy mosquito larva.
Health Division Chief of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis, Ram Bahadur Chand said the campaign of public awareness with search and destroy of mosquito larva was underway at community level with the rise in dengue cases.
