Police and locals have clashed in Saptari after locals stopped police from seizing illegally hoarded clothes.
Police tried to seize illegal clothes hidden in local Ghuran Shah’s home at Belhi of Bihul RM- 4 when locals arrived to obstruct police. The argument lead to clash between sides with injuries reported in both police and local side. District police office has informed that 3 police personnels have been injured in the clash.
Police even fired three airshots to take situation under control. Injuries on locals side is yet to be identified. A team of Armed Police Force and Nepal Police were dispatched on the basis of information that illegally imported goods were stored in Shah’s home.
Police hasn’t disclosed the quantity of merchandise seized.
