Pokhara metro is to operate agro ambulance of 3 ton capacity to facilitate collection and distribution of agro products.
In a program organized today, Pokhara Mayor Dhana Raj Acharya and Prakash Kumar Sanjel, Joint secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development signed an agreement to operage agro ambulance. The agro ambulance aims to market agro products of rural areas with free shipping. The program will be conducted in partnership with value chain development of fruit and vegetables project.
Mayor Acharya informed that the program aims to join supply of production oriented zone with demand of consumption oriented zone. Agro ambulance will be operated with Metro’s aim to fulfill production and consumption of healthy fruits and vegetables to public, Acharya added. He also said that the ambulance will also help to distribute essential seeds to farmers.
Manohar Kadariya, Chief of Agriculture Division Pokhara said that the agro ambulance will help to supply agro products in time and minimize damage on agro products, remove extreme profiteering by third person and provide fresh fruits and vegetables to consumers.
Schedule will be made for operation of ambulance and a collection centre will also be made in different wards for small producers.
