Heliport of Tribhuwan International Airport is set to be transferred to Nalinchowk of Bhaktapur.
A contract is agreed to develop heliport infrastructure in Nalinchowk according to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. 33 ropanis of land is allocated to build the heliport at a budget of Rs 250 million. 100 Million will be used to build terminal building and tower while remaining 150 million will be used to construct Helipad.
Helipad construction is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Remaining infrastructure will be built under multiyear plan. After completion of project passengers will have to go to Nalinchowk heliport for their flights. The project is expected to reduce traffic in TIA.
The new heliport will be able to park 24 helicopters in a same time. There will be services like fuel loading, emergency rescue, terminal for passengers and hanger for helicopter repair as well.
