The Mahabhir waterfall at Naagi in Temkemaiyung rural municipality in Bhojpur district is being developed as a tourist attraction lately, thanks to the development and conservation initiative from local level.
Water falls from a height of 60 meters round-the-year. So domestic tourists throng the place for recreation, especially during summer and spring. Local municipality has constructed various structures nearby waterfall which is 29 kilometres away from district headquarters. The Mid-Hill Highway connecting Khotang’s district headquarter Diktel with Bhojpur, is expanded through the area where waterfall lies. So many passerby passengers also dash off to see the waterfall.
Around 11 to 12 groups of people visit the waterfall on a daily basis, shared Shiva Kumar Rai, a local. Stressing on further publicity of waterfall, Rai opined that more structures should be put in place to facilitate the tourists.
Rural municipality vice-chairperson Rama Rai said development works are being carried out in order to develop and promote Mahabhir waterfall as a tourist attraction.
