Pashupati Area Development Trust has banned sports and recreational activities around Pashupatinath temple from Shrawan 1st.
Issuing a notice today morning, trust has informed that activities other than religious acts are prohibited in Slesmantak forest area, Bhandarkhal and Mrigasthali. Activities like morning walk, yoga, jumba with loud music, sports like badminton, football, volleyball and cycling will be prohibited from Shrawan 1st.
Trust has complained that such activities have distorted lifestyle of animals and birds of those areas and also disturbed in meditation of saints and sages as well as regular worship. Trust has further warned to take punitive actions againt those who do not adhere to new rules.
