Nepali Passport Falls Among 10 Worst Passports

Nepali passport has ranked seventh from bottom among passports from the world.

In a quarterly report published by Henley & Partners, Nepali passport has ranked at 106th position alongside Palestinian territory. In fact Nepali passport has fallen even below of North Korea whose ties with outside world is very limited. Below Nepal are passports of Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Henley & Partners, a London based firm considers 199 passports of the world. It is based on number of destination a passport holder can travel without a prior visa. Nepali passport holders can travel to only 38 destinations without a prior visa compared to 193 destinations for Japanese passport which stands at top position.

Similarly, two other asian countries, Singapore and Korean passport hold second position with 190 destination available to travel without prior visa. Indian passport can access 60 destinations across the world and falls at 87th position. Maldives fared the best among SAARC countries and stand at 63rd position with 89 destinations for visa on-arrival.
